LexLin Gypsy Ranch in Roane County usually sells between 40-50 horses a year, but that’s not what President, CEO and owner Eric Barton likes most about his breeding operation.
Saturday was a big day for him. LexLin held its fourth annual Passing of the Lead ceremony, where it donates Gypsy Vanner horses to equine therapy centers from around the country.
“The more we’ve done this and the more we’ve met people like you represented here today, the more we want to do it,” Barton told the crowd. “We hope to keep donating horses for years to come.”
LexLin donated 20 horses at this year’s event. Online voting determined which centers received the gift.
